My father,Raymond F. Meyer Sr, Commissary-man First Class/CS1, served on the USS Mt.Katmai, AE-16 from Apr 69 to Jun 72, then the Pyro AE-24 from Jul 72 to Jul 74.

Anyone know of reunions for the crewmembers of the USS Pyro AE-24 in 2017?

I was sent to Subic to await my transfer to USS MARS (AFS-1). but she had already departed for Yankee Station and the South China Sea.
USS PYRO was ready to pull out for the same location and gave me a transit ride. Total transit time approx. 10 days....so my time aboard was brief. Appreciated the PYRO lift. Year would have been 1971, or 1972.

Greeting all who served on Uss Pyro and Haleakala,78-82. I've got a son ,Jimmy lll up at HSU,Arcata,and daughter Sophia who lives in Honolulu,visiting her soon...would love to hear from old friends! I'm living on a couple old boats on the Bay.

I was abroad the USS Pryo AE-24 in 1970. What a great time I had on the ship with other sailors, and still love the navy.V
